Metal machining helps fabrication projects come to life

Experience, equipment give Titletown Manufacturing an advantage

Excellence in metal machining requires a combination of equipment capabilities and skill level of the shop’s machinists. Titletown Manufacturing is fortunate to have both assets in good supply in support of our commitment to produce high-quality orders for our customers.

Significant investments in equipment and software over the past few years has enhanced our ability to provide metal machining services for a wide range of products. Chief among those investments are a CNC boring bar, a horizontal milling machine, and a 5-axis vertical milling machine that enables us to machine large parts on its 80-inch x-axis and 27.5-inch y-axis. This unit performs multi-axis CNC metal machining within an impressive .0001 tolerance.

Parallel investments in Mastercam and MazaCAM programming software have helped us integrate all of our CNC assets for incredibly accurate metal machining. This combination of equipment and software lets us machine parts as small as one-quarter inch to 19 inches in diameter, and one-half inch to 80 inches in length.

Metal machining of stainless steel relies on correct tooling and welding

Machining stainless steel requires a higher level of expertise and specialized equipment than most other materials. Titletown Manufacturing has the appropriate tooling in stock for this type of metal machining, and our team is fluent in the practices specific to machining stainless steel.

The specialized tooling needed for stainless steel enhances our efficiency because we can run material feeds and machining speeds at much faster rates. The experience of our team is another major advantage for our customers. Having the correct equipment is of limited value without the machinists’ knowledge for high-level operations.

Glass blasting and welding ground flush to surfaces eliminates the crevices in which bacteria can live on food-grade stainless steel. Our team’s ability to make these surfaces smooth and free from imperfections is a valuable and necessary skill for our stainless steel customers.

Welding and fabrication expertise leads to finished products

Titletown Manufacturing performs multiple capabilities under one roof

Titletown Manufacturing’s expertise in welding and fabrication offers customers a single-source option for creating finished products. The combination of our team’s skill set and the high-quality equipment in our shop delivers orders that meet the precise standards our customers require.

Machining, welding and fabrication are key services that differentiate Titletown Manufacturing from shops that need to outsource one or the other. This streamlines our process, shortens turnaround times, and enables us to have a direct control of quality control.

We perform MIG and TIG welding as appropriate and are proficient at welding materials as thin as 1/16 of an inch. Our welding capabilities include producing weldments that are square and to specification, ranging from 1 x 1 x 1 inch up to 6 feet by more than 200 inches in length.

Welding and fabrication of a variety of materials

Titletown Manufacturing’s welding and fabrication services extend beyond merely cutting and bending of thin sheet metals. We have the capability to pre-machine parts prior to welding as well as perform finish machining after welding to provide parts complete to specifications.

We use equipment such as a CNC boring bar and the Mazak FH 6800 machining center to work with aluminum, mild steel, high-carbon steels, stainless steel and bronze. These high-level machines enable us to handle parts that are larger than the capabilities of many traditional milling machines.

Our team also assists customers with production runs for metal parts, and we have access to high-quality testing resources if needed to confirm we’re meeting your specifications for all welding and fabrication projects.

Staff Proficiency with CNC Milling Machines Shortens Turnaround Times

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin – Titletown Manufacturing LLC technicians are cross-trained on a wide range of tools and machines, with the vertical milling machine a trusted standard in the company’s ability to meet its just-in-time supply responsibilities.

Vertical milling machines have a spindle that moves in a vertical orientation (up and down) over a block of metal. It functions much like a drill press in that it features a quill that can be adjusted to various depths.

“The vertical milling machine is a foundational tool of our business that enables us to deliver high-quality projects with short lead times when necessary,” said Titletown Manufacturing co-owner Chris Fuss. “Our goal every day is to complete jobs without undue delay for our customers.”

Titletown Manufacturing uses CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology to produce parts within .0001 tolerance, with the vertical milling machine included in its stable of high-quality tools. This versatile machine is capable of creating a wide range of shapes, sizes and depths.

“While a vertical milling machine may not conjure up images of advanced technology, it serves an important role in our fabrication capabilities,” said Titletown Manufacturing co-owner Dan Hilliard.

Titletown Manufacturing uses a wide range of materials in its welding and fabrication operations, including mild steel, aluminum, plastic, brass, bronze, hardened alloy and stainless steels up to RC 65.
